I had my daughters young, so having them both be in their early 20s now, gives me the opportunity to mentor, support, share wisdom,travel with them, have a healthy friendship and learn to find joy in the rubble. All 3 of us have battled rare illnesses, lupus, and have through faith conquered the fight. With age comes wisdom I no longer worry about what other people may think about me. That freedom is priceless. My career is established. These are the best years.
Laughter, prayer, coffee and learning to love my body for where it is (healthy or not) My life story is beyond crazy pants, it truly is through my Faith that I am still here standing. Having a supportive partner, family, has been crucial in regaining my fabulous confidence! I LOVE my job, my patients, and the honor of walking along side so many women guiding them through the journey of motherhood. When they succeed we all succeed, now that’s fabulous!
I would give 10% to the Oakhouse ministry, 10% to lupus foundation. Take my mom, with dementia, on one last trip. My eldest is getting married, and I would love to use some of this to help her have her dream wedding. The rest would go to providing postpartum support to new mothers with PPD and covered lactation support for survivors of assault. It takes a village to support women, I would love nothing more than to see them get the care they deserve without financial hurdles.
