For me, the best part of life after 40 was the awakening of a newly found sense of freedom to be myself. In my forties, I accepted my life as a young widow at 36 with 3 small children (my youngest was born with Tuberous Sclerosis, high-functioning autism) and realized life doesn't have to be perfect to be happy, beautiful, and fab. Once again, I started to appreciate and be grateful for all the wonderful people and things in my life. I also embraced and accepted who I was and not who I wasn't.
The thing that makes me feel fabulous the most is when my children are happy. When they are happy I feel so incredibly happy, complete, and of course fabulous. I lost my husband in a plane crash (he was the pilot) and this was extremely traumatic for us. It was a long road to healing, but we made it! Self-pampering makes me feel fabulous! I strongly believe that I must take care of my mind, body, and soul by indulging in activities that bring me comfort, pleasure, and relaxation.
What would I do with $40,000? I would donate a portion of the money to charities that have special meaning to me, share it with my loved ones, and give myself a gift of self-pampering!
