What’s the best part of life after 40?

I know who I am. I’ve raised a family and had a successful and rewarding career. Now, I’m at a point in my life where I can make more contributions to help others. I have the time. I’m ready to keep giving. I am actively involved in and volunteer for two great organizations, including the American Cancer Society and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. My family and friends have been affected by both cancer and Alopecia Areata. It warms my heart to give back to people who need it.

What makes you feel fabulous?

I’ve made self-care a priority (weight training, healthy eating & focused skin care). I’ve made family a priority (caregiver for parents & mom to two successful, independent adult daughters). Being caregiver for my mom has been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done, and she loves it when I sing to her. As a volunteer I’ve helped drive education and funding for those who need it. In retirement I’ve been involved in many fun activities (acting, modeling, salsa dancing & learning to shoot guns).

What would you do with $40,000?

I would take my adult daughters to Sicily and Italy. I’d love to share the history of our family roots with them. I’m 50% Italian. This would help me relive the miraculous experience I shared with my parents back in 2017, which was before my beautiful mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. We learned we still have family in a small town called Montalbano Elicona, Sicily, both on my mom‘s maternal grandma’s and grandpa‘s side. I’d love to include my dad’s family heritage in the trip too.
