At 40 I got a burst of confidence and felt like I can do this thing called life. Now that I am over 50 it feels like I have gained control. Every experience I have been through has enabled me to learn about myself and feel confident in being the captain of my own ship.
With regards to my family; I feel my most fabulous self when I look at the result of the two young men I have raised to contribute to this world. With regards to my friends; I feel my most fabulous self when I have put a smile on someones face or when I have made someone laugh from the bottom of their belly. With regards to myself; I feel my most fabulous self when I look in the mirror and smile with love and gratitude for the friend looking back at me, and I can get excited for her future.
I would use the prize money to start my CRAFT (Care and Repair through Art Focused Techniques) business for people who are suffering through trauma. This "Maker's Room" is based on the 12 Principles of Conscious Living that I wrote about in my book, From Transplant to Transformation; The Journey Of A Mother Who Gave The Gift Of Life Twice. I'm not yet sure if I'd like it to be a brick and mortar studio or have an online presence to reach the most people.
