What’s the best part of life after 40?

The absolute best part of life after 40 is the unshakable confidence that comes with knowing and accepting yourself. At 44, heading toward 45, I find that every line on my face, every silver strand in my hair, represents a life well-lived and loved. This authentic self-acceptance allows me to fully celebrate my Mexican American culture, dedicate myself to my family and beloved furbabies, and savor every beautiful, fleeting moment with a depth I never had before.

What makes you feel fabulous?

I am a long-term survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, and I pour that strength into a mission of awareness, creating a beacon of light and love for others on similar journeys. I also advocate for asthma awareness, a condition I've managed since age six, proving that even our struggles can be sources of power. My life is a testament to finding beauty and delight in the everyday—whether it’s creating art, or taking our two fur babies on adventures with us.

What would you do with $40,000?

My deepest motivation is to honor the enduring legacy of my father, who we lost to aggressive cancer in late 2022. A win would provide the resources to help my family navigate the residual financial challenges from his illness, offering a measure of peace and stability. Second, I would passionately invest in my personal and professional growth by enrolling in specialized courses to expand my creative and entrepreneurial skill set.
