The best part of being over 40 is gaining perspective on what truly matters in life and feeling more equipped to face life's obstacles and challenges with grace, faith, and resilience. I have learned so much from the decisions made in my younger years and use this wisdom to guide me. I have a greater perspective on who I am and developed more meaningful and deep relationships. I feel more comfortable in my body and proud of who I am. Every day is a blessing to be alive!!
Over these last years, I have gained a clearer understanding of my value and worth through lived experiences, most especially through illness including breast cancer. Self-acceptance has been liberating and empowering. When I lost everything superficial, I gained a profound view on what truly matters to me as well as a deep sense of inner peace. I see how my experiences have shaped me to be resilient, to invest in what makes me happy, and the importance of self care and physical well being.
$40,000 would relieve me of debt accumulated from high medical costs, give me the opportunity to travel which is something I've been dreaming of through these years of illness, and help me relaunch my Overcomer Hats project for chemo patients. Doing something good is my way of saying thank you for the gift of this amazing prize!
